NCC Education is delighted to announce a new progression route to 6-Year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at University of Central Lancashire, UK.
Situated across picturesque campuses on the Westlakes Science and Technology Park, Burnley and central Preston, the University’s urban and rural settings provide an ideally varied environment to undertake medical training.
The course provides access to the Institution’s on-campus Human Anatomy Resource Centre and Simulation Suite to help develop clinical skills in realistic hospital, home and GP surgery environments and enable students to undertake a mixture of work-based learning and clinical placements throughout Years 1-5 of their studies.
Rewarding, exciting and challenging, the MBBS programme places considerable emphasis on developing expertise in the areas of professionalism, clinical skills, communication, observation, team-work and leadership.
During this first year, students will enhance their language proficiency in English for medical sciences, learn scientific communication skills, fundamental biomedical sciences, body systems and mathematics. Later years will focus on medicine and clinical practice, informed practice of medicine, medical skills and quality care. In the final year, the course focuses on the knowledge and skills to support a smooth transition from undergraduate to postgraduate pre-registration practice, including application of skills and conducting critical reflection.
The MBBS programme at UCLan is recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC) and recruits a multicultural cohort with both UK and International students.
In the National Student Survey results 2023-2024, 93% of final-year students agreed that ‘Staff were good at explaining things’ and 95% that ‘The course has developed the knowledge and skills I think I will need for my future’(Discover Uni).
It holds an impressive 4 QS Stars overall and 5 QS Stars for Teaching, Employability, Global Engagement, Facilities and Inclusiveness.
